Anonymous statistical methods versus cryptographic methods in epidemiology
Sensitive data are most often indirectly identifiable and so need to be rendered anonymous in order to ensure privacy. Statistical methods to provide anonymity require data perturbation and so generate data processing difficulties. Encryption methods, while preserving confidentiality, do not require data modification.
متن کاملGenetic Variation of Seed Related Traits in Festuca arundinacea Using Multivariate Statistical Methods
Genetic diversity is the basis of breeding studies in many plant species and is one of the most important indicators for selecting parents. The aim of this experiment was to investigate the genetic diversity of tall fescue (Festuca arundinacea) using agronomic traits such as plant height, spring growth score, days to flowering, days to pollination, flag leaf length and width, panicle length, we...
متن کاملStatistical methods in genetic research on smoking.
A growing body of evidence suggests that genetic factors have an important influence on the onset and course of smoking. Here we review some of the statistical methods that have been used to test for genetic influences on smoking behaviour, with a particular focus on studies of large national twin samples. We show how many of the hypotheses that have been tested using a genetic model-fitting ap...
